Phone Display

The 2135 LCD display provides

Programmable Feature Keys

These keys can be programmed by Accent to do a variety of things. Some of these options are speed dials, park lines, and BLFs (busy lamp fields).

Contextual Soft Keys

The function of these keys will change depending on what is shown on the phone's LCD display.

Feature Keys

The 2135 includes two distinct sets of dedicated feature keys, a set above the 12-key dialpad and another set just to the right of the dialpad. The feature keys are shown in the pictures below with details regarding each key's unique operation.

Hold

Place an active call on/off hold.

Messages

Access voicemail and mailbox messaging features.

Phonebook

Access the corporate phonebook and directory.

Mute

Mute/Unmute the phone's microphone during an active call. Also used to toggle Do Not Disturb mode on/off when the phone is idle.

Transfer

Transfer the active call.

Send/Redial

Used to call a number after dialing the number with the keypad. Can also be used to quickly redial the last called number.

Headset

Press to engage a connected headset and activate headset mode.

Conference

Adds additional callers to an active call or to create an ad-hoc conference call.

Speaker

Press to toggle the speaker phone on/off.

Volume

Use to increase/decrease caller volume on an active call and the ring volume when the phone is idle.

Call Handling

Answering Calls

You can answer a call in several ways:

  • Taking the Handset/Headset off hook

  • Pressing the Speaker button

  • Pressing the corresponding account Line button

Multiple Incoming Calls

  1. When there is a call waiting, users will hear a Call Waiting tone.

  2. The next available line will flash red.

  3. Answer the incoming call by pressing its corresponding LINE button.

  4. The current call will be put on hold.

  5. Toggle between the calls using the LINE button.

Making a Call

  1. Take the Handset/Headset off-hook, press the Speaker button, or press an available Line key.

  2. The line will have dial tone and the corresponding line’s LED will turn green.

  3. Enter the phone number.

  4. Press the Send button or press the “DIAL” softkey

Ending a Call

End a call by pressing the “EndCall” soft key or hanging up the handset.

Using a Headset/Speaker Phone

Speaker Phone

Use the speaker button to toggle speaker phone on/off.

Headset

Use the Headset button to use the headset once it had been connected.

Call Transfer

With an active call, follow the below steps based on the type of transfer desired.

Blind Transfer

  1. Press transfer button.

  2. Dial the number and press the transfer button to complete transfer of active call.

Attended Transfer

  1. Press transfer button.

  2. Dial the number and once the call is established, press the attended transfer key to transfer the call.

Direct Transfer to Voicemail

  1. Press the transfer button.

  2. Dial *86 followed by the destination extension number.

  3. Press the transfer button to complete transfer of active call.

Call Park

Parking a call allows any phone in your system to pick it up. Follow these steps to park and retrieve parked calls.

Placing a Call on Park

  1. Press the programmed feature key labeled "Park"

  2. Listen to the read-out for which line the call is being parked on

  3. The call will be parked automatically and the handset can be returned to its base

Accessing a Parked Call

  1. Lift the phone handset

  2. Press the programmed feature key where the call is parked to automatically connect to the call (the line should turn red on the LCD display when a call is waiting)

  3. If the call is parked on a line that is not shown on the LCD display, dial the park line as if it is an extension to connect to the call

Conference Calls

The 2135 allows for 3 way conference calling. Follow these steps to establish a 3 way conference call.

  1. A regular call should already be active

  2. Press the conference button

  3. Dial the extension or phone number that you want to conference in

  4. Wait for the second call to connect

  5. Press the conference button again or the "ConfCall" soft key to establish the 3 way conference call

While in a conference call, the host or originator of the call can kick either of the other two callers using the soft keys below the LCD display. If the host is disconnected however, the other two callers will also be disconnected.

Utilizing the Hold Function

A call can be placed on hold by pressing the dedicated hold button.

  1. Place a call on ‘hold’ by pressing the hold button

  2. Resume call by pressing the hold button or corresponding blinking LINE.

Redial

  1. Take the phone off-hook

  2. Press the dedicated SEND button or the “REDIAL” soft key

Mute/Do Not Disturb

Muting the Microphone

Press the MUTE button to mute and unmute the microphone when on an active call. The mute icon in the top left corner of the LCD display indicates whether the microphone is muted.

Do Not Disturb

When phone is idle, use MUTE button to toggle phone in/out of Do Not Disturb (when activated, all calls will go to voicemail).

Voicemail

A blinking green light in the phone's top right corner indicates a message is waiting.

  1. Press the Message button to retrieve the message

  2. The system will prompt the user through the process of message retrieval
